Scholarships
The MOVIE INSTITUTE is pleased to offer two full scholarships to Kamp Hollywood generously sponsored by the Dallas Producers Association and Women In Film-Dallas.
MOVIE INSTITUTE Scholarships will be awarded on the current basis:
The potential participant has a real interest in moving image production and/or acting.
A demonstrable financial need for tuition assistance exists.
Extreme circumstances in relation to an Applicant (to include, but not be limited to: terminal illness, heroic community behavior, overcoming an extreme challenge/disability).
Demonstratively exceptional ability / aptitude for moving image production and/or acting
Completed application is turned at least two weeks prior to camp or workshop start.
Space & funding is available.
The MOVIE INSTITUTE (MI) reserves the right to forfeit a scholarship for the following reasons:
Misrepresentation - A parent / guardian who intentionally misrepresents conditions or circumstances claiming a financial need or other determining need and/or factor, and MI becomes aware that a determining need/factor did not, in fact, exist.
No response - A parent / guardian is required to return the registration form within 4 days of being notified that they were granted a scholarship. If not returned within the required timeframe, the scholarship could be awarded to another eligible camper.
Scholarship award determination will be made by the Executive Producers of the Movie Institute. Decisions of this committee are final. All applicants will be notified on acceptance or non-acceptance of scholarship petitions.
The Movie Institute does not discriminate based on race, ethnicity, religion/non-religion or color.
ALL SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS ARE KEPT IN CONFIDENCE BY THE MOVIE INSTITUTE.
ONLY THE RECIPIENT OR HIS/HER PARENTS MAY DIVULGE THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE RECEIPT AS A SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT TO OTHER CAMPERS AND THEIR PARENTS.

The Dallas Producers Association through its ongoing effort to mentor up and coming producers
has been generous enough to provide one annual camp scholarship for an individual to attend
One regular tuition paid for an outstanding, underprivileged young gentleman or lady that can demonstrate interest and or aptitude in the moving image.

DPA: DEFEND / PROMOTE / ASSIST
DEFEND -
The DPA defends the livelihood of local production professionals by uniting producers and suppliers against unfair legislation and unfair labor practices.
PROMOTE -
The DPA promotes the local film and video production market as a highly creative, competitive, and international source of professional production expertise.
ASSIST -
The DPA assists local production professionals by providing educational and informative programs and events that give its members the competitive edge they need to be successful in the global marketplace.
The Dallas Producers Association is a professional organization providing promotion, advocacy, education and networking for our membership.
Membership is open to any company or individual of high standing, based in North Texas, that has managerial, budget or creative control for the production of moving visual media.
DPA promotes the membership throughout our industry and to organizations of companies which use our services.
We are advocates for our members in legal, business and political forums effecting our livelihood.
The organization delivers on-going professional development to our members as producers, businesspeople and citizens. Finally, fellowship between members builds a network of resources and fosters friendly competition.

Women in Film.Dallas (WIF.D) in its effort to foster quality industry mentoring and education
is offering one Kamp Hollywood! 2009 scholarship for a young lady interested in the Moving Image industry.
