Since MI became a nonprofit, the .org designation was desired and after talking with Gregory Colcord of buydomains.com and asking the company to donate same, Mr. Colcord would only give MI a discount on having to purchase its own .org designation. </div> <bR> <div> We are wanting a sleeker, easier to use site, so please feel free to comment at <A HREF="mailto:webmaster@movieinstitute.org" TARGET="_top" TITLE="mailto:webmaster@movieinstitute.org">webmaster@movieinstitute.org</A>!</div> <bR> <bR> <bR> <div> <B>November 16, 2009</B></div> <div> <B>MI helping Today Foundation after school program in D/FW with video instruction.</B></div> <div> MI Instructor and Dept. Chair Eric Jewell is mentoring high schoolers in the Dallas/Fort Worth area in commercial video production. </div> <bR> <div> The Today Foundation was awarded a grant through the Texas Workforce Commission to develop 21st Century jobs skills in youth 14 years-20 years of age. There are 4 objectives: </div> <bR> <div> (1) keep students enrolled in school whereby they may earn a diploma,</div> <bR> <div> (2) help students develop Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics skills, </div> <bR> <div> (3) connect students to community colleges, universities, and technical schools where STEM skills can be developed to a higher level, and </div> <bR> <div> (4) connect students to community-based issues/problems/solutions.</div> <bR> <div> There are 4 instructional sites; one in Jefferson (overseen by Gary Endsley) and 3 in the Dallas/Fort Worth:  </div> <bR> <div> <B>Cornerstone Academy in Arlington, Texas</B></div> <bR> <div> <B>A.
